2013 SKILLS TRAINING - PULVORON MAKING   

A skills training was facilitated for the interested children of Jireh Home for Children by the Health Worker last July 25, 2013. The training was successful and was full of excitement. The children were very happy and showed interest while learning how to make a “Special Pulvoron”. The finished products were shared to the other children and staffs too.

 

 

PARENTING SEMINAR FOR THE HOUSE PARENTS

July 11-12 2013, Three (3) Jireh Home House Parents were sent to attend a Parenting Seminar facilitated by the school of Mambago-B National High School where our high school children were also enrolled. The center staffs learned a lot in the seminar especially in proper handling of children.

 

 

ARGIE NEL OFFICE TRAINING AT JIREH

Having been able to surpass the hardship of high school level, Argie Nel Caballero is now trained for office work at the Center’s Office while studying at JSTDC taking up House Keeping. The child really showed interest as he was trained by Nanay Celsa, the Center Treasurer. For several months now, the child is improving and became more acquainted with office jobs and how to use the computer as the primary equipment used in many offices.

CHILDREN’S ANNUAL OUTING

Annual Children’s Outing. The very day which every child in the shelter is waiting for every year.  This year’s outing was held at D’ Leonor Inland Resort. The resort looks expensive and is really expensive. But the management are very kind to give a very generous discount for the children to experience such leisure. The children were able to enjoy a nice huge swimming pool with an artificial wave. Moreover, they were also able to experience different rides such as: teacup & bump car. It was a whole day of fun that the children were able to unload inner negativity through recreation.

 

 

PSYCHO-EDUCATIONAL AND PSYCHIATRIC ASSESSMENT FOR THE REMAINING 10 CLIENTS BY METAMORPHOSIS

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

August 22-23, 2013, Mrs. Edith Bayubay of Metamorphosis Psychological Care and Testing Center revisited the shelter again to continue the Psycho-Educational Assessment of the 10 remaining children who were not able to undergo assessment during her 1st visit last 2nd quarter of this year.  In addition, 1 from among the 10 children undergone an additional special psychiatric test to be able understand more the very unusual behaviour detected on the child. The result of such tests is expected to be completed before the end of this year and the management is hopeful for a more guided treatment plan for the residents based from the report provided by the Psychologist.

Another pride for Jireh Home for Children. Jocel Cabel, a 7th grade client of JHC won as Bb. Panitikan during their school’s celebration for “Buwan ng Wika”. She really showed confidence during the coronation day and was very much happy of the support of all the staffs and co-children in the home.

 

 

RAYMOND WON 5TH RUNNER UP BUWAN NG WIKA – LAKAN 2013

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Raymond Basco of the elementary level won 5th place during their school’s celebration for “Buwan ng Wika”. A very shy type child was able to face the crowd with confidence as he introduced himself representing the Samalnon Tribe. Ronald Navarro, the crowned Lakan during the last year’s celebration passed his crown to the new Lakan during the culmination of the whole month celebration.

 

 

ARGIE NEL’S ON-THE-JOB TRAINING AT CAMP HOLIDAY PARK AND BEACH RESORT

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Argie Nel had his OJT or On-The-Job Training for Housekeeping at Camp Holiday Beach Resort, Samal Island. The initial job experience according to him makes him feel fulfilled and more determined to try his best to finally reach his goal to be able to work and  become a blessing to other children too especially to his brother Kevin.

 

 

 

SEPTEMBER 2013

 

COMPLETION OF WATER TANK

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The water tank is finally and successfully completed in the month of September through the continuous provision of our Lord Almighty. This was faithfully pursued due to the problem of insufficient water to supply the newly constructed Comfort Rooms. Now, the children are already happy and became more hygienic after the completion of these projects. Indeed! He is our Jehovah Jireh.

 

 

GSP & BSP CAMPORAL

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

High School students attended their school’s Girl Scout and Boy Scout backyard camping which they called “Camporal”. The children really showed alertness and initiative during the camp as it was the time of selection of scouts to represent the school for the division scouting activity. Fingers crossed, they hope and pray to be selected.

PAULINE CLEFT PALATE OPERATION

February 21, 2006, Pauline Omnes had her reconstructive operation by the volunteer Doctors of Operation Smile Program due to her cleft and lip palate. Lately, she was observed that her artificial palate was removed and needed to have another operation. Hence, she was admitted to SPMC, Jica Bdlg. last September 25-29, 2013 for pedia and anesthesia clearance and undergone series of medical test in preparation to her 2nd operation sponsored by Operation Blessing. September 30, 2013, Pauline had her Palatoplasty-redo operation by Dr. Arnulfo Mapayo, volunteer plastic surgeon of Operation Blessing, and was dicharged last October 2, 2013 with home medication. Now, the child personally shared that she no longer experience difficulty in eating after her second Palatoplasty operation.

SCHOLARS ACADEMIC UPDATE:

So Happy to let you know that 3 of our high school scholars have improved a lot in school. They were included in the top 25 who have high grades in the over-all ranking (with over 150 students) and classroom ranking.
