FEBRUARY-OUTING
Discussed and proposed, the children’s outing will be in Davao. Departure time was 9am. First destination was Gaisano Mall Bajada area. The kids went immediately to Jollibee for their lunch. Afterwards, the kids along with their house parents and other staffs went to the arcade. The kids had a great time, it’s their first time to play basketball in an arcade. One of the kids namely Regine hit a jackpot and she won a thousand tickets which they exchanged it at the booth for a toy prizes. Then next destination was Abreeza Mall, the kids played at the center playground and took some pictures, then next stop was the New Sm Lanang mall. The kids also had their snacks in Jollibee then walked around the mall, took photos, then decided to play again the arcade games. Tired and poofed out, the kids went home with huge smiles in their faces saying “Can we do this again?”.

THE JIREH HOME BASKETBALL TEAM
Basketball is one of the many sports the kids want to play. It exercises them, it keeps them in good shape, and most importantly basketball keeps them close to each other. During weekdays, the kids are having their practice and exercises every after class, it starts at 4pm to 5pm. During weekends they do practice during the afternoon only, it starts at 1pm to 3pm. Before the game starts, the kids will have their stretching first and they jog around the court and they are taught the basic fundamentals of basketball. Discussed and proposed, a league for a cause is inevitable for the kids. The kids were so happy with their new uniforms but most of them had no shoes to play in the court and were just playing barefooted or with slippers since there is no budget yet to provide shoes for them. The league will help the kids to develop socialization abilities and help the kids to boost their self confidence as they play with an audience. Parents from other teams and people that will also watch the game.

THE VALENTINES DAY CELEBRATION
Valentines day, the kids celebrated hearts day by building up love booths and having a campfire in the middle of the field. Making the love booths was very fun for the kids and also challenging for them because it is a contest. Whoever has the most wonderful and mostly creative booth wins. The children are divided according to their groups, Judah, Israel and Zion. Israel won the contest. Judging started early in the afternoon, and in the late afternoon, all the children sat down circling the campfire. The children sang Christian songs then afterwards, Part of the program was a discussion of the different types of Love especially the Love of God and Family by Nanay Celsa Tenala, the center treasurer. The kids listened very attentively and promptly.
They also cooked their own barbeques with the staffs and had dinner in the field. The kids really enjoyed the night at the open area.

FEBRUARY BIRTHDAY CELEBRANTS
The twins, Ramil & Romel and the Basco Siblings Jun2x and Regine celebrated their birthdays in the month of February. They had a special birthday celebration. Everyone sang a birthday song for them. They were so happy as they blew the candles after making some wishes.

CES PARENT'S DAY CELEBRATION
Although branded by other people as orphans, The Jireh Home Children all went to school with an energetic and competitive parents. All the staffs happily participated in the said activity as their parents during their school’s Parent’s Day Celebration last February 15, 2013.
Everyone actively played every games and won a lot of prizes. Everyone went home with joy.

FREE HAIRCUT BY MAHARLIKA FOUNDATION
The Marharlika Foundation visited Caliclic Elementary School Last February 22. They gave away slippers to all the students of the school and had also given free haircuts to the children.
Moreover, they also gave medicines to Jireh Home Children.

MARCH - HAPPY TIME AT THE POOL
The children Enjoyed their Outing held at Fernandez Beach Resort.
Everybody had fun swimming at the pool.

THE CONSTRUCTION OF (3UNITS) COMFORT ROOM INSIDE THE CHILDREN’S QUARTERS
The construction of Comfort Rooms inside the quarters of the children had already begun. It was expected to be done on or before the end of March 2013.
It was a long time desire of the children to have a CR which could be accessed easier. Now, everybody is excited of their new CR inside their quarters. The administration is hopeful that this will improve more the hygiene of the children.


JHC VEGETABLE GARDEN PROJECT
This project was being conceptualized last year 2012 by the staffs due the scarcity of budget. This was formulated to somehow help the organization produce vegetables inside the mission campus to minimize budget for food.
The staffs and the children during their do day which is done once a month altogether helped in the clearing of the area proposed for garden. This was completely plotted after 2 months and then the staffs started planting different kinds of vegetables namely: Tomatoes, Pechay, Spring Onion, String beans, Camote Tops, Corn, Squash, Eggplant, Malvar Shade, Horse Raddish, Okra, etc.
Now, it’s been almost a month since the plants started to produce harvest which we already used in our daily menus.
March 22, 2013, a one day break for all the hard working mothers of Jireh Home for Children. The staffs all went out to the City just to relax and be pampered at a salon. They had simple makeover, some had their nails polished, some had hair cut, some also had a hair treatment and some had a whole body massage. It was a very memorable experience to most of the staffs because its their first time to enter into a Salon and avail of their services offered. They had lunch at a buffet which is very common in Davao City where all food is served unlimited but of very affordable price.

THE END OF SCHOOL YEAR 2012-2013
The kids had reached the end point of the school year 2012-2013. During their recognition and graduation day which was held Last March 16 and March 20 respectively, several of our kids from grade school had been given merit awards by their advisers and some of them participated in some events life folk dances during the program. Andres Japona on the other hand, finished the year with honor which he was ranked 4th. The kids were emotional during the ceremony and as of us their acting parents to see them finally stepping up to higher education ahead of them.
The High School Children also had their recognition day last March 20, 2013. Regine Basco, Anthony Aguilon and Jonie Ann Jane Castillo were given merit awards. Moreover, Regine Basco ranked 7th in their class but unfortunately, she wasn’t able to make it to be included in the general ranking during their recognition day. But she said she will exert more effort to study in the next school year.
