OPERATION BLESSING BLESSES THE HOME
As the Bible says in everything there is a season. The month of August, the mission was experiencing a severe financial crisis. But God allows these experiences to happen to let the children and the staff bend their knees in prayer. In Aug. 24th 2010 God answers prayers when Zarah Bantug from the Operation Blessing let Erik Castillo drove the car carrying the 4 sack of rice and toiletries to the Jireh Home. It was a surprise to the children; they were screaming joyfully seeing the 4 sack of rice. We have been lucky to have this opportunity to be chosen by the Operation Blessing to be one of the beneficiaries of the OB Orphans’ Promise. The Jireh Home for Children appreciates so much your support. We wish you great success of your organization. God will richly bless you pressed down, shaken together and running down all over.
“DENGUE FEVER” OUTBREAK
First time in the history of Jireh Home that since June to August 2010 eight (8) children from the home were admitted in the Hospital and six of the is because of Dengue fever and were referred to Southern Phil. Medical Center (SPMC) formerly Davao Medical Center (DMC) for further treatment because of continues dropping of their platelet count. One of the client developed a Typhoid Fever while having a Dengue Fever.
A VOLUNTEER THERAPIST
In July 26, 2010 Zumiko Sasaki a 28 year old pretty Japanese lady, a registered Physical Therapist from Japan volunteered to work at Jireh Home for three (3) weeks. In her stay and during the night she teaches Nipunggo to the children while at the same time learning a Filipino language. She also went to the school with the housemothers to look after the children weather or not they are really attending classes and also gave their snacks during recess time and sometimes she helps prepare food in the kitchen. During her stay she is not only observing and teaching but she is also learning and wanted to share her experience here to her fellow Japanese when she go back home. A day before her departure, the children in the Home prepared a short farewell program for her. The staffs and all of the children in the Home expressed their thanks and appreciation for her effort and patience as a volunteer in helping the children. Arigatu gusai masu and happy trip to you says the children and staff..
